Jamie Shaw is Labour’s candidate in the by-election taking place on 10th December 09 for the vacant Areley Kings district council seat.
Jamie and Josie Shaw have lived at 65 Redsone Lane for thirty-two years. They have two grown-up daughters. Formerly a teacher at Stourport High School, Jamie now works for the education service of the county council.
Jamie has a record of twenty-five years’ continuous service to the local population, twenty-three years of which were
as a district councillor. He was Leader of the Labour Group on Wyre Forest Distict Council from 1989 to 2007 and Leader of the Council from 1990-94 and 1996-99.
Three key district council issues Jamie will be taking to the people in this election campaign are, restoration of unrestricted use for over-60s’ bus passes, opposition to the Tory administration’s “single-site” headquarters plan and advocacy of green policies, such as the installation of geothermal heating in new housing developments.
